April showers brought May flowers and indeed, there are many free online courses blooming on various platforms - and since next week I'm going to have a well-deserved May mini-break, I managed to find nice subjects to study, so that you'll have something to choose from even before May starts!
Free Online Courses in April
April showers bring... a lot of free online courses. With the weather still unpredictable, it's still a nice idea to spend windy days at home, studying and developing our teacherish skills... and not only those, as I found some courses everyone might find useful, not only teachers.
7 Free Online Courses in March
I find March a perfect month for online learning - long, rainy days, still cold and grey just made to stay in and study. I have a ton of books to read, but I simply cannot resist a good online course, so here we are with a set of seven fresh online courses.
7 Free Online Courses in February
Long winter evenings of February may look picturesque, but if you prefer staying in, I have a good excuse for you to do so: free online courses. A lot of teachers enjoy their winter break, so if you want to procrastinate without the slightest feeling of guilt, you may enjoy one of the options I've picked for you.
7 free online courses in December
Today, I feel pretty much like Santa, bringing you a fresh batch of free online courses you may enjoy during the December break, so that "New Year, New Me" spirit will have a solid background of December-learning. This time I've focused more on self-paced courses, as with the holidays preparation on our heads, we may be too busy to seriously focus on learning.
7 free online courses in October
September is over, and October brings long evenings when you can drink tea or hot chocolate and read books... or learn, of course! With leaves falling in many beautiful colours, let me shower you with lovely online courses, that are free to participate and open for everyone. And if autumn cosiness makes you slightly lazy, the courses I want to show you will wake you up and inspire for a nice change!
From Goal Setting to the Effect - workshop with Luiza Wójtowicz-Waga
I've been learning Spanish for a while now and it's been a great time, save for a time when my profesora was replaced by a native. The new profesora was a really nice lady, I guess, and a teacher with an impressive potential for development; the thing was, however, we had no proper coursebook and relied on her materials... and I had no idea what was going on in the class, what new skills I developed, what things I was supposed to learn. I tried talking to her DoS, but soon I got frustrated and eventually I quit.
7 free online courses in July
Summer break is perfect for online courses - you don't have to do lesson preparation, your mind is free to wander: now's the time to study! I do realise not everyone is a die-hard fan of online courses like yours truly, so my shortlisted courses are rather summer-like, short and pleasant.
7 great free online courses to take in May
I've decided to make a list of courses you may partake in this month, and possibly enjoy them at least as much as I do. I've got some ideas for both teachers and students of EFL because there are some options you may not really want to participate in, but share with your pupils or fellow learners as well.
Are we really creative?
Being creative is the key to opening, unblocking someone else's creativity - but I'm not really sure that being a "creative teacher" is enough, I'd say that being a creative human being is more important here. I believe we, teachers, should not only bring creative classroom activities, we should focus on unblocking this aspect in our students' mindsets.
