Language Through Trends: Using Social Media in Class

Every lesson is a story worth telling…

My name is Monika Bigaj-Kisała, I’m an EFL teacher, a gamer and a storyteller. For 17 years I have taught English to students of all ages in Poland, Ireland and England. Since 2016, I have also been training teachers as a Director of Studies.

My ultimate goal is to become the Evil Mistress of the World. I plan to achieve it by teaching, as it’s easier to affect minds weakened by English grammar and pronunciation. After all, English is so dark and full of shadows, that knowing we’re unable to fight it, it’s best if we join it.

As a proper villain and a storyteller, I love cats. I share fondness for both cats and words with Howard Phillips Lovecraft, one of my favourite authors. His Cthulhu Mythos is quite popular on my blog – if you are a fellow cthultist, you will find this page particularly friendly.

The way I teach English is the way of fun for both teachers and students. I believe we become good users of a foreign language when we can crack a joke or tell a good story. Now, I’m terrible with jokes, but you just ask me for a story!

…because every story is a lesson worth learning.
