This month I focused on short courses full of teaching tips, and one course you may easily include in the class with young adults: writing applications and being interviewed!

I love using flashcards in my classroom to engage my students and support active learning, to make them move, to introduce new vocabulary and revise the one already covered… That’s why I decided to share my top 11 activities with flashcards.
I really do hope you can feel the spring in the air, as in my place it’s snowing! However, in case you also feel like staying in, I have some interesting courses you can enjoy this month. This time I focused on the courses that can help you improve your attitude, so you can become not only better educators, but also happier people. So, let’s get started!
Spring is officially here, so maybe we should get inspired and grow a bit as well? I want to share with you three books that may be quite useful if you want to become better teachers – and better people.
I like using everyday classroom objects we can have in our classroom in creative and engaging ways to make learning fun. So far I’ve written about soft balls, food, toilet paper and scarves – but what about chairs? Can we use them to boost creativity, communication… and fun?
Can you smell the Spring approaching, can you see its brilliant colours? No? Is your March still grey and rainy? Well, don’t be sad, as I’ve got something that will not only brighten the mood of you and your students but also support mindful practices, help work on using English, and make you play yet another adorable – and relaxing – roleplaying game!
March isn’t the most beautiful month in the year – the days are getting longer, but it doesn’t mean they are nicer, even though we may enjoy some random walks. However, the upcoming spring, and the promise of new beginnings, make March the perfect time to focus on your CPD and take a look at some free online courses! As usually, I found seven courses that look pretty promising.
By now you must have heard of Chat GPT by OpenAI – an AI language model by some called the saviour of time-consuming writing compositions, by others the harbinger of doom😊 All that seems certain is that it will change the education as we know it.
You have probably read at least some ideas on how Chat GPT can help in EFL, but I decided to talk to ChatGPT directly. So here’s the interview!
Imagine 34 teachers of English sharing their ideas and inspirations, just so that you could try out their signature activities.
Imagine one creative Ania, who “made one set to rule them all, one set to find them, one set to bring them all, and in the union bind them”
Yet, unlike Sauron’s gifts, this set is absolutely free!
February can be a vile month, cold, windy, dark and generally unpleasant – what’s not to like? If you’re still fuelled by your New Year resolutions, you might be interested in some free online courses that will definitely be a good start to you professional development journey in 2023. Neuroscience, future of education, LGBTQ+ inclusion, mentoring student teachers, AI for teachers and more – I’m sure you’ll find something you like!
