Keep growing! 5 Educational Platforms You Will Love
Every month I share some cool online courses – those I believe can help you grow and shine. I shared with you various classes, today, however, I want to share something else.
I want to show you the educational platforms I choose most often. They are reliable, provide proper education, and you can browse them safely. Why do I do this? I want to encourage you to find something that you will find useful, either for yourself or for your students. Instead of showing you some particular courses, I want you to spend some time on these platforms and find something you like most.
Let’s take a look at them!
Coursera
It’s an online platform that offers courses, degrees, certificate programs, and tutorials across various, mostly academic, subjects. It collaborates with universities and companies like Stanford, Google and IBM, so you will find here courses designed by top institutions. Coursera offers also job-relevant programs and verified certificates authenticate learners’ achievements (paid, though).
FutureLearn
It is an effective online learning platform with storytelling, discussion, and community support. When it comes to the community, it’s probably the best place to share experiences and exchange ideas with people from all around the world. It offers courses on various topics, from illustration to sustainability, and it’s less theoretical than coursera, as learners focus on gaining practical skills. And what I really like about this platform is very clear course structure and tracking. Bonus point for organization!
Udemy
Udemy is more than just a platform, it’s an online learning community with more than 130,000 individual courses. You will find here really diverse subjects, from coding bootcamps to drawing. Each course offers video lectures, lifetime access (which is a great thing), and certificates of completion. Each course is paid individually, but the prices are reasonable, especially with a coupon (and they’re easy to find).
edX
It’s an online learning platform founded by Harvard and MIT. It has 83 million learners worldwide and offers high-quality courses across various disciplines. EdX collaborates with over 260 universities and organizations, so some courses are actual (and paid) uni-based courses, with proper expert-led educational guidance. However, usually, once the course finishes in real time it’s archived, and then accessible for free.
Skillshare
Again, it’s more an online learning community for creative and curious people than a casual educational platform. It’s perfect for exploring passions and honing craft, as it offers classes in illustration, design, photography, freelancing etc. The courses here use project-based learning, as the majority of learners want to gain new skills. This may be particularly interesting for your students!
I hope you’ll find some inspirations, ideas and materials. Don’t be shy and use this educational content as part of your regular classes!
Enjoy!
